The Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector is collaborating with Office of the Commissioner for VOs to provide 2 training sessions dedicated to Risk Management. Please find more details regarding the training below:

Content:

  • Overview of the importance of risk management for VOs
  • Understanding Risks in VOs
  • Types of risks (financial, operational, reputational, legal, etc.)
  • Brainstorming session: Identifying potential risks specific to each organization
  • Tools and techniques for systematic risk identification (SWOT analysis, risk registers, etc.)
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment methods
  • Risk matrix: Assigning severity levels to identified risks
  • Assessing and scoring specific risks
  • Developing risk mitigation plans
  • Risk transfer, acceptance, avoidance, and reduction strategies
  • Integrating risk management into organizational culture
  • Roles and responsibilities of staff and board members
  • Communication strategies for risk awareness
  • Drafting an initial risk management plan

Deadline to submit your registration is 25th January 2024 – noon.

Each voluntary organisation may apply for a maximum of 2 volunteers. Each training session will have an intake of a maximum of 40 participants, hence VOs are encouraged to submit their application as soon as possible to secure your spot.
