Eden Leisure Foundation - Casino Royale in aid of Richmond

For more than 30 years, Richmond Foundation has been one of Malta’s leading organisations in mental health care and support.

Founded in 1993, the Foundation pioneered community-based mental health services in Malta and continues to provide a wide range of support programmes, including residential services, therapeutic care, employment support, family services, community outreach, and mental health education.

At the heart of Richmond Foundation’s work is a simple belief: that every person facing a mental health challenge deserves compassion, dignity, and the opportunity to recover and live a fulfilling life.

Every day, the Foundation works to reduce stigma, promote understanding, and ensure that no one faces mental health challenges alone.

But imagine facing a mental health challenge while caring for a child without the support or safe space you need.

Dar Tereża is changing that.

This year, the Eden Leisure Foundation Gala will support Dar Tereża, a specialised residential service operated by Richmond Foundation for mothers experiencing mental health challenges and their children.

While mental health difficulties can affect anyone, mothers often face unique challenges. Many are trying to manage their own recovery while continuing to care for their children, often carrying the additional burden of fear, isolation, financial pressures, and uncertainty about the future.

Recognising this need, Richmond Foundation created Dar Tereża, a safe and supportive home where mothers can receive professional care without being separated from their children

Opened in 2024, Dar Tereża is a specialised residence supporting mothers navigating mental health challenges while raising their children. It offers safe, supported accommodation, therapeutic and recovery-focused care, life-skills development programmes and a nurturing environment for both mother and child.

This year, funds raised through the Casino Royale Gala will support Dar Tereża. Funds raised will go towards:

• Expanding therapeutic programmes
• Enhancing child-friendly and communal spaces
• Investing in specialised staff training
• Ensuring long-term, high-quality care

Goal: Raise €50,000 to make these spaces a reality
