Gabriel Caruana Foundation
Offering opportunities in the artistic and creative fields to modern and contemporary artists.
The Gabriel Caruana Foundation is a non-profit organisation working in the field of art and culture. The Foundation continues on the footsteps of Gabriel Caruana by supporting established and emerging artists, making modern and contemporary art accessible.
Their work also includes efforts towards the Conservation The Mill - Art, Culture and Crafts Centre, housed in a 300-year old Schedule 1 listed windmill. They believe engaging in contemporary art and culture contributes towards collective well-being, thus they develop community based projects working with different artists and communities.
Since inception in 2016, Gabriel Caruana Foundation has supported numerous emerging artists through skills and artistic development, having ensured that the longest running independent art and cultural centre continues with a rich and diverse artistic programming. They are carrying out studies to ensure a grade 1 listed building, Il-Mithna ta' Ganu, is conserved and sustainably rehabilitated as a Contemporary Art, Culture and Crafts Centre. Also, they have developed several projects engaging with different communities.
